CBD on sleep, cognition and meditation

CBD has been shown to increase REM sleep. REM sleep is where memory consolidation occurs hence CBD could help your cognition and increase your mental alertness. REM is also when the bulk of testosterone (in men) gets released, this means it could help improve your gym progress by improving your rest and recovery.


It is important to note that long term use provides the most noticeable changes and a one time use may not be as effective. It is not psychoactive, meaning it does not alter your mental state, however, people report the likelihood of them entering a negative mental state such as paranoia to be greatly reduced.


I am a neuroscience student and I practice meditation daily. Personally I found supplementing with CBD helped my ability to stay in a meditative state allowing me to be better equipped in eliminating negative thoughts - but that's just me.
